A Letter From Venezuela

A letter From Venezuela is a 57-minute documentary about contemporary Venezuela and the economic and political phenomena the country has been experiencing in the last few years.

The film’s narrative unfolds through a series of storylines: one connected to the death of my younger sister from malaria in February 2018 and other refers to the crisis the country is experiencing and how the government and the people explain and confront what is going on.

In this second strand, the two main themes covered are the economic war waged against Venezuela in the domestic and international arena, and the “guarimbas’, violent protests which has been the main strategy of the opposition in Venezuela since President Maduro took power.

The film also shows some government and grass root activists initiatives’ that are emerging despite the economic crisis.
