British photojournalist Alan Gignoux and Venezuelan journalist-filmmaker Carolina Graterol, both based in London, went to Venezuela for a month to shoot a documentary for a major global TV channel. They talked with journalist Paul Cochrane about the mainstream media’s portrayal of Venezuela compared to their experiences on the ground.

The Oil Sands project documents the devastating effects that the extraction of Oil can have on a landscape as well as the complicated human relationship with the oil industry.
Hidden within the vast landscapes are a number of pockets that contain fragments of often overlooked stories documenting the experiences of the people most affected by the oil industry in this area,
'The printed newspaper encourages readers to indulge in the material laid before them. Providing respite from the fast-paced digital world, it allows the opportunity to use your imagination and immerse yourself in a narrative. It was this aspect that led documentary photographer Alan Gignoux to turn to Newspaper Club to print his series Forests of Latvia. “I wanted to create something physical that would make people stop and spend more focused time viewing the work,”
